Klowden Mann in Collaborative Nepal Earthquake Relief Benefit 5.27.15

Culver City Galleries Collaborate to help Nepal

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Benefit Date: Saturday May 30th, 6-9pm
Bruce Lurie Gallery & Culver City Arts District
Los Angeles, CA

The Bruce Lurie Gallery is pleased to announce a collaborative Nepal Earthquake Relief Benefit on May 30th. Eighteen galleries in the Culver City Arts District are committed to supporting the effort to help the victims of the earthquake in Nepal. Some are making direct contributions and/or offering a percentage of sales and/or taking contributions to forward to the charities.

Gallerist Bruce Lurie and photographer Michael Wood have teamed up to promote the benefit, aiming to inspire collectors across LA to help Nepal by collecting art in Culver City. Wood has spent significant time in Nepal and is leveraging the timing of his show (May 30 – June 15) at the Lurie Gallery to help. His exhibition contains many images from remote and urban areas of India and Nepal.

With the onset of monsoon season, the needs in Nepal are urgent. For simplicity, four out of many reputable charities are being recommended: Oxfam, Doctors without Borders, Himalayan Children’s Charities and The Prem Rawat Foundation. These are the eighteen participating galleries in the Culver City Arts District (more may confirm):
